YOUR BUSINESS CAN HELP KEEP MILWAUKEE SAFE

This year, the Milwaukee Police Department launched a new initiative to aimed at improving public safety. The initiative, called Community Connect Milwaukee, allows residents and business owners to register their home or business security cameras with the police department.

The goal is to

  • Help keep your community secure while maintaining privacy.

  • Enable public safety professionals to respond more efficiently.

  • Enhance emergency preparedness.

  • Assist in expediting investigations.

The program is completely volunteer based. Residents or business owners can either 1) register their camera or 2) integrate it with the department. Registering it means the department will know the location of a camera and if they think it may have recorded a crime — think theft or a hit and run — the police may ask you for the footage. You are under no obligation to provide it.

Integrating your security camera means that the camera can provide live feeds to the department.
