COMMUNITY MEETING FOR THE WEST SIDE AREA PLAN

Do you live on Milwaukee's West Side?

The Department of City Development (DCD) is hosting a community meeting to kick off the West Side Area Plan Update. Originally completed in 2009, the West Side Area Plan will be updated to reflect today’s conditions and to provide a roadmap for a bright future that supports the area's attractive neighborhoods, unique commercial areas, and many regional destinations. This updated Plan will become the City’s official guide for land use and development decisions in the area. The Plan’s recommendations also help prioritize improvements to transportation networks, parks, and other community facilities. As part of the planning process, the Plan will include a market study to understand the economic trends affecting the area.

This is the first of several meetings that will held over the next approximately 18 months. The purpose of this first meeting is to help establish the community’s priorities around these topics before developing draft recommendations. You can help shape the future of your neighborhood! There is a brief, online survey to help identify community priorities around these topics. Take the survey now! Preliminary results will be shared at the Community Meeting. https://engage.milwaukee.gov/westside/westside-plan-survey

Visit the project website for additional information and to sign up for updates.

For those who are unable to make this in-person meeting, a virtual meeting will be held in early January. More details coming soon.
